Evening walk in Delamere

Inspired by cherished memories of a summer evening, this watercolour captures a path in Delamere Forest lit by the low, golden sun. Strong shadows stretch between trees as two distant figures walk a small dog.  The woodland floor glows in limes and plum-browns, while soft greens fade to misted blue in the distance. I painted to hold the hush of that hour, when warm light catches on tree trunks and the air is alive with drifting shimmer.​​
