About the Artist

I am inspired by nature and landscape—drawn to moments of quiet light and atmospheric stillness. My paintings are often described as calm and relaxing, reflecting the gentle rhythms of the environments I love.

Watercolour is my current focus and passion. Largely self-taught in this medium, I’m captivated by its subtlety and unpredictability. Working frequently en plein air, I paint directly from life—responding to shifting light, weather, and mood in real time. Each painting becomes a dialogue with the landscape itself.

It’s the challenges of watercolour that sustain my interest: understanding its nature, adjusting to environmental factors, and embracing the serendipity that often occurs. Drawing on my design background, I also explore the integration of texture within the medium—adding depth to its luminous transparency.  Though watercolour is at the heart of my current practice, I also enjoy working in acrylics, collage, and pastels—choosing each medium for its unique capacity to evoke feeling.

I hold a first-class degree in Art and Design, attained as a mature student. My early creative career was in surface pattern design, which gave me the flexibility to work from home while raising our children. Today, I live in a small rural village in Cheshire with my husband. Our garden, and the surrounding countryside, remains a constant source of joy—nurturing plants, watching the seasons shift, and sharing space with visiting wildlife.

Music, travel, walking, and food enrich my life, grounding my creative practice in everyday beauty.

I’m an active member of The Artists Group and Grosvenor Art Society, exhibiting regularly with both. My work is commissioned frequently by Decibellas Women’s Choir, of which I’m a long-standing member, and I’ve had the honour of providing artwork for the High Sheriff of Cheshire and produced images for the website and clients of Ennuvo, an innovative engineering consultancy.
