The Local
The Local is a watercolour painting inspired by plein air sketches of the Dysart pub in Bunbury, Cheshire. Created in the studio from on‑site drawings and weather notes, it captures a bright, breezy March day with fast‑moving clouds, shifting shadows and the character of a traditional English village pub. A bicycle leans against the brick wall and figures gather in the doorway, adding a sense of everyday life and local charm.
